The Water and Moon Kuan Yin is depicted in a relaxed, contemplative pose known as royal ease or lalitasana seated on a rock overlooking water. Some Buddhists believe that when one of their adherents departs from this world, they are placed by Guanyin in the heart of a lotus. Goddess of Compassion, Mercy, and Kindness is considered to be a mother-goddess and patron of seamen. She is described as the goddess of Mercy, and is regarded as one of the most beloved Buddhist Divinities. Kwan Yin symbolizes unconditional love and compassion for those in need. In this statue she holds a water vase that contains the nectar of life which is one of the eight Buddhist symbols of good fortune.
